What a typical weekday looks like for me right now

I wake up around 7am from Monday to Friday. My classes start from 9:30am and last until 4:30pm. Luckily, my husband has time to drive me to the university and pick me up after classes most of the time, so I don't have to take the bus and overground. It takes at least 1.5 hours each way if I have to use public transportation.

My morning routine is relatively quick: I get a quick shower and get ready. I would skip breakfast and only have an espresso at a bar near the university. This has been something that I have been doing since I moved to Rome.

The classes I am taking are accounting, management, public law, mathematics I and statistics I. I am surprised that I enjoy the mathematics and statistics classes. The professors are amiable, and the classes are engaging. However, my favourite class so far is accounting.

We have multiple projects and group presentations on top of the lectures. I am not going to lie; the preparation for those presentations is time-consuming. However, it is a great way to learn teamwork, be proactive and stay organised.

Every Wednesday after class is time for aperitivo! This is a way for us to relax and unwind from all the exam and coursework stress. We pay €10 and can eat as much as we want. It is such a great way to spend time together. Our favourite place is at Rosso, near Circo Massimo.

I spend my evenings tidying up my notes from classes and reading the relevant chapters for the next day. Sometimes, I would take a power nap and stay late to finish everything. It is so important that I get everything done as planned because I spend time reading for law on the weekend, so I do not have to stay behind the syllabus.

There are some days when I don't have much homework; we would stop by a pizzeria in the city to have some good Italian pizza and soft drinks or go to the cinema to watch a good film. We would walk around the city and enjoy some time together. I feel very grateful for having the opportunity to study abroad and get to know with so many great friends from around the world!

My night routine includes an evening skincare routine and having a sleeping tea whilst watching something on the TV.

Love, M&D
